The Lodge: Salmon
Heaven Lodge is a clean, spacious and comfortable Lodge located in Altmar, New York with-in walking distance of the world-class
fly-fishing stretch of the Salmon River. The Salmon River is the premier Salmon and Steelhead fishery east of the Rocky Mountains.
Oswego County is famous for its rich history, festivals, Lake Ontario recreation, beaches, golf courses and for its superb
snowmobiling and ATV trails. Salmon Heaven provides
a genuinely home-away-from-home atmosphere. You will be greeted with lots of warm and friendly hospitality. Our lodging includes
six rooms and one efficiency unit and a 2005 full facilities camper. We also have two rooms at our tackle shop & tavern
100 feet from the lodge. All rooms are private with private bath, free Internet service and satellite TV. The Lodge
Room offers large-screen TV and comfortable furnishings. Hot coffee stands ready for guests to relax and discuss the day’s
successes and share a fisherman’s story or two. A large fly-tying table is set up for those that tie their own flies.
We also provide grills and fire pits for your use. With
the addition of SRO, Salmon River Outfitters tackle shop & tavern, we can provide any and everything you will need on
your visit from fishing licenses to the "up to the moment" hottest tackle to place a place to get a nice meal. The lodge has direct snowmobile and
ATV trail access onto a network of groomed and marked trails that go for hundreds of miles. Just 100 yards away, is the State
Fish Hatchery. With-in a 30 mile radius
from Salmon Heaven lodge is Lake Ontario, the Redfield Reservoir, Oneida Lake, thousands
of acres of prime hunting grounds, beaches, restaurants, wineries, golf, sailing, X-country skiing, and hiking trails. The
lodge is handicap accessible.
