7/24/10 - Today the river is at 750 CFS for the white water rafters. Today it is cloudy with a chance of showers. The reports from the upper fly zone have been good. There are some browns, summer run steelhead, and atlantics are being caught in the river.

7/16/10 - took Bob and Roger out on the Lake today for rather bumby ride! We had 3-4 footers all day with an occasional 6 footer. We only fished for a couple of hours but they each landed really nice Brown trout and we let a couple of small ones back in the Lake to grow up. There are a good number of Steelhead, Atlantics and Brown Trout in the upper Fly zone. Last weekend when the river was up e veryone did reall well catching some big Steelhead and Atlantics in the 12 - 15 pound range. This week with the water at 185cfs again it has been a bit tougher although they are still getting a couple. This weekend there is another water release and I expect good fishing again.

7/14/10 - I just got back from a great time in the Tampa area during my annual environmental trip I run every year for 6th graders. While I was gone, Dan ran several charters for us and he reports catching a nice mixed bag of brown trout, king salmon and steelhead. After some bizarre weather from no rain in the spring to wind, to a foot of rain in two weeks it finally looks like the weather is settling down and so is the fishing. Could this be the year of the 40 pound kings? If the size of the Kings being caught during July are any indication I would say it might be!

7/4/10 - on Saturday Paulene and her friends joined is for a 6-hr charter. They went 4 for 11 landing 3 salmon, two really nice size fish, and one steelhead. We had several other fish on as well. As always when Paulene fishes with us, we had a great time!

6/19/10 - today we had a great time fishing with Foster, Dayna, Sandra and Pappi out for a six hour charter. Foster landed a nice brown trout and Pappi a nice steelhead. we really enjoyed fishing with everyone and look forward to seeing you again in the future!

6/16/10 - the fishing on Lake Ontario is back to being tough again. We pick up a couple of good fish and some small fish. We caught a decent coho last trip and a 6# brown trout. Even the Lake Trout fishing has slowed down. Good news is on the way in the name of King Salmon. Reports have good number of salmon migrating from Niagra towards us and should be here any time. The fishing on Oneida is very good for walleye, bass and perch. Bob, Bob and Zac headed down there Monday and Tuesday and caught several walleye and perch.

6/08/10 - Took Nancy and Kevin for a quick trip on Lake Ontario afterschool today to see if we could find any brown trout, we landed two including a nice 6# fish and lost a third a couple feet from the boat on leadcore.

5/29/10 - it did not take Linda and her friends much time to catch their limit of lake trout today! they landed 8 and lost a few in only a few hours. after getting our limit we decided to look for some salmon action, we didn't gt any but had one on for a bit until it beat us. great day and look forward to seeing you again in June or July!

5/26/10 - after having a really tough weekend, I took Nancy and Kevin out afterschool on Monday. We got into 11 fish in two hours (go figure!). With brown trout fishing being slow, we went right after lakers and never had all of the rods set. We brougt a few home for Brenda and Kevin to enjoy.

5/16/10 - unfortunately, my trip cancelled because of the wind on Saturday, so I took SRO owners Nancy & Kevin out for a four hour trip Sunday afternoon. We looked for Brown Trout for a short while and then went for some Lake Trout. Fishing for Lakers was very good and we picked up our limit pretty fast.

5/1/10 & 5/2/10 -  River- there are still fish scattered through the river with the guys doing especially well in the lower fly zone and a bunch of fish still in the hatchery, at 185 cfs the steelhead fishing will come to a fairly quick end. Kevin and I spent a couple of hours and got two nice steelhead and several brown trout all between 12 and 18 inches. Scott and Dave brought Walter and his family out on the river Saturday and they hooked up with several fish and landed a few.

Lake - with flat water, bright sun and no flow of water into the lake from the tributaries, it has been a hard pick for fish. We are catching some fish every trip however and there is a nice mixture of Brown trout, Steelhead, both immature and mature King Salmon, Cohoes and Lake trout being caught. Book your lake charter now while there are still some prime time openings!
